Description
Introduction
SMOK RPM 4 Coils are the replacement mesh coils for the SMOK RPM 4 pod kit, sold five to a pack for £9.99. Two resistances, 0.15ohm and 0.6ohm, both mesh, and both built for a lung draw rather than a tight cigarette one. They also fit the SMOK Nord 6, which catches a lot of people out in a good way.
One thing to get straight before you order. RPM 4 coils are not the same as RPM coils. SMOK reuses the RPM name across several coil families that do not swap over, and buying the wrong one is the single most common mistake in the whole SMOK range.
Key Facts
SMOK RPM 4 Coils are sold five to a pack.
Two mesh resistances are made for the RPM 4: 0.15ohm and 0.6ohm.
At 0.15ohm, an RPM 4 coil runs best between 30W and 60W for direct-to-lung vaping.
At 0.6ohm, the RPM 4 mesh coil sits at roughly 20W to 30W for a restricted lung draw.
The SMOK RPM 4 pod kit and the SMOK Nord 6 both take RPM 4 coils.
SMOK RPM, RPM 2 and Nord 2 devices use different coil families and will not take an RPM 4 coil.
Shortfill e-liquid at 3mg to 6mg suits RPM 4 coils better than high-strength nic salt.
Which RPM 4 Coil Should You Buy
0.15ohm mesh (DTL). Run it at 30W to 60W, best around 50W. Airy open draw, big clouds, warm vapour. Use 3mg or 6mg shortfill, never 20mg salt, because at this resistance that much nicotine is genuinely unpleasant.
0.6ohm mesh (RDL). Run it at roughly 20W to 30W. A tighter restricted lung draw, less vapour, and it goes through noticeably less liquid. Use 3mg to 10mg, either 50/50 or a 70/30 shortfill.
If you are coming off cigarettes and want a tight mouth-to-lung draw, neither of these is right for you. The RPM 4 is a lung-draw device and both coils reflect that.
Which SMOK Devices Take These Coils
Fits: SMOK RPM 4 pod kit
Also fits: SMOK Nord 6 and the SMOK Nord 6 empty pod
Does not fit: SMOK RPM, SMOK RPM 2, SMOK RPM 40, SMOK RPM 80, SMOK Nord 2 or SMOK Nord 4
If you own an older RPM device, you want the SMOK RPM Replacement Coils instead, which cover the RPM 40, RPM 80, Nord 2, Nord 4 and Fetch range. Same brand, same naming, completely different coil.
How Long Do RPM 4 Coils Last
Mesh coils in this resistance range typically give one to two weeks of steady use. The 0.15ohm at 50W goes through liquid fast and will usually be the shorter of the two. Sweetened fruit and dessert liquids cut coil life sharply, sometimes by half, because the sugars caramelise on the mesh.
A five-pack therefore covers most people for two to three months. Replace a coil when the flavour dulls or you catch a burnt note, because once mesh is cooked it does not come back.
How to Fit and Prime a New Coil
Pull the old coil straight out of the pod. It is a push fit, so it comes away with a firm tug.
Prime the new one. Drip e-liquid onto every cotton port you can see, then a couple of drops down the centre.
Push it home until it seats flush, then fill the pod.
Wait ten minutes. A mesh coil this large needs longer to soak than a small pod coil.
Start low. Run the first few pulls 5W to 10W under your target, then work up.
Getting More Life Out of Them
Do not run it dry. Top up at a third rather than waiting for the last drop.
Stay inside the wattage range. Pushing a 0.6ohm past 30W burns it in days.
Give it a second between pulls. Chain vaping at 50W outruns the wicking.
Go easy on the sweet stuff. Clear fruits and menthols will double what you get from a coil against a heavy custard.
Buying Genuine SMOK Coils
Counterfeit SMOK coils are common, and they fail in ways that matter: wrong resistance readings, cotton that will not wick, and a burnt taste within a day. Every coil here comes through authorised UK supply. Vape Online Store is rated 4.7 out of 5 on Trustpilot from over 7,900 reviews, with fast UK dispatch. Strictly 18+.

Frequently Asked Questions
What coils does the SMOK RPM 4 use?
The RPM 4 uses its own RPM 4 mesh coils in 0.15ohm and 0.6ohm. It does not take RPM, RPM 2, RPM 40 or RPM 80 coils, even though the names look almost identical. Check the coil family, not just the RPM number.
Do SMOK RPM 4 coils fit the Nord 6?
Yes. The SMOK Nord 6 and its empty pod take the same RPM 4 coils, so one pack covers both devices. It is a genuine crossover rather than a lookalike fit.
What wattage should I run RPM 4 coils at?
Run the 0.15ohm between 30W and 60W, with most people settling around 50W. Run the 0.6ohm between roughly 20W and 30W. Going above the range does not give more flavour; it just cooks the cotton faster.
Is 0.15ohm or 0.6ohm better?
Neither is better; they are different draws. Pick 0.15ohm for an open direct-lung hit with big clouds and low-strength liquid. Pick 0.6ohm for a tighter restricted lung draw, less vapour and better battery and liquid economy.
Can I use nic salts in RPM 4 coils?
Only low-strength ones, and even then the 0.6ohm is the sensible choice. A 20mg salt through a 0.15ohm mesh coil at 50W delivers far too much nicotine per puff and will make you feel rough. Shortfill at 3mg or 6mg is the right pairing.
How long does a SMOK RPM 4 coil last?
One to two weeks each with normal use, so a five-pack lasts two to three months. Heavy use at 50W on the 0.15ohm and sweet e-liquids both shorten that, sometimes to under a week.
Why does my new coil taste burnt straight away?
It was not primed long enough. Drip liquid onto the cotton ports, fit it, fill the pod and leave it ten minutes before the first pull. A large mesh coil needs longer to soak than a small pod coil, and a dry first hit ruins it permanently.
How many coils are in a pack?
Five, all the same resistance. You pick 0.15ohm or 0.6ohm at checkout, and a pack cannot be mixed, so order one of each if you want to try both draws.
