Description

Introduction

The Innokin Kroma R Zlide Vape Kit is a refillable box mod kit with a tight MTL draw, a 2ml tank and one removable 18650 battery (sold separately), priced at £37.99. Best for adult vapers who want a cigarette-like draw now and room to fit a bigger tank later.

The Innokin Kroma R Zlide Vape Kit pairs the 80W Innokin Kroma R mod with the Innokin Zlide tank. The tank is built for mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping, which means a tight, cigarette-like draw. It only needs 10W to 18W, so most of the mod’s power sits in reserve for a larger tank later. It is not ideal for anyone who wants USB-C charging, a built-in battery or big clouds straight out of the box. This is the Innokin Kroma R with a removable battery, not the Innokin Kroma-Z pod mod.

Innokin Kroma R Zlide Vape Kit: Key Facts

The Innokin Kroma R Zlide Vape Kit runs on one external 18650 battery, which is not included.

The Innokin Kroma R mod has an output range of 6W to 80W.

The Innokin Zlide tank holds 2ml of e-liquid and fills through a sliding top cap.

The Innokin Zlide tank uses Innokin Z coils, which run from 0.3Ω to 1.6Ω.

The Innokin Kroma R mod charges through Micro USB at 5V/2A.

The Innokin Kroma R Zlide Vape Kit comes in Black, Bronze, Silver and Gunmetal.

Innokin Kroma R Mod and Innokin Zlide Tank Specs

Battery: 1 x external 18650, sold separately. The kit will not switch on without one, so add an 18650 battery to the same order.

Power: 6W to 80W, 1V to 7.5V. Far more than the supplied tank needs. The spare power is there for a bigger tank.

Tank capacity: 2ml. The UK legal size. The sliding top cap means no unscrewing to refill.

Coils: Innokin Z coils, two supplied. The ohm (Ω) rating and wattage range are printed on the side of each coil.

Resistance range: 0.05Ω to 3.5Ω. The mod will fire almost any tank screwed onto it.

Charging: Micro USB, 5V/2A. Not USB-C. Innokin publishes no charge time and its manual advises a separate battery charger.

Screen and modes: OLED display with wattage, voltage, Curve and Bypass modes. Wattage mode is all a new user needs.

Size: 131 x 40 x 26mm with the tank fitted. A zinc alloy body, so it is pocketable but not light.

Airflow: adjustable ring at the base of the tank. Turn it to tighten or loosen the draw.

MTL or RDL: Pick Your Inhale

The coil decides the draw. MTL is a tight puff held in the mouth first, like a cigarette. RDL (restricted direct lung) is a looser puff taken straight to the lungs. DTL (direct lung) is a wide-open, big-cloud draw.

1.6Ω or 1.2Ω Innokin Z coil: tight MTL at 10W to 14W.

0.8Ω Innokin Z coil: warmer MTL at 15W to 18W.

0.3Ω Innokin Z mesh coil: RDL at 30W to 40W.

DTL: needs a different tank. Innokin names its own Innokin Ajax tank for this.

Key Features of the Innokin Kroma R Box Mod

Removable battery: swap in a charged 18650 instead of waiting for a recharge.

Spring-loaded battery door: opens at the base with no tools.

Soft, Normal and Boost: sets how hard each puff starts. Soft is gentler on a new coil.

Curve mode: lets the wattage rise or fall during a single puff.

Bypass mode: sends battery power straight to the coil with no regulation. One for experienced users.

Adjustable cut-off: the longest puff can be set from 3 to 18 seconds.

Innokin Z Coils and E-Liquid Pairing

Thin liquid suits tight coils. In the 1.2Ω and 1.6Ω coils, use 50/50 or high-PG liquid. Nic salts, a smoother type of nicotine, work well here, and both sit in the 10ml e-liquids and nic salts range. Heavy smokers usually start at 20mg and lighter smokers at 10mg. The 0.8Ω coil takes the same liquids with a warmer result. The 0.3Ω mesh coil needs thicker 70% VG liquid in a low strength, usually a shortfill e-liquid, a large bottle sold without nicotine. Vapers on the Planet of the Vapes forum report that thick 70/30 liquid in a 1.6Ω coil burns it out in days, and that switching to 50/50 fixed it.

Battery Life, Coil Life and Running Cost

Battery: independent UK reviewers report about three days from one 18650 at 18W. Higher wattage drains it faster.

Coil life: vapers on the Planet of the Vapes forum report about a fortnight from a 1.6Ω coil at 11W to 12W. One long-term reviewer found the 0.8Ω coil the longest lasting and the 1.2Ω the shortest.

Running cost: a five-pack of Innokin Z replacement coils is £7.89, about £1.58 a coil. One coil a fortnight is roughly 79p a week before e-liquid.

Compatibility and Refills

The vape chamber on the Innokin Kroma-R is the Innokin Zlide tank, and it only accepts Innokin Z coils, also sold as Innokin Zenith coils. Innokin iSub coils do not fit. The mod has a standard 510 thread, so other tanks screw on. Members of the Planet of the Vapes forum confirm the Freemax Fireluke 22 and Aspire Nautilus GT Mini tanks both work on it. The battery bay takes 18650 cells only.

How to Set Up the Innokin Kroma R Zlide Kit

Open the door at the base and fit a charged 18650, matching the + and – marks inside.

Unscrew the tank base, fit a coil firmly and screw the tank back together.

Push the top cap sideways, fill through the slot and close it.

Stand the tank upright for at least 5 minutes so the coil soaks.

Press the fire button three times within two seconds to switch on.

Use + and – to set the lowest wattage printed on the coil, then raise it slowly.

Hold + and – together to open the mode menu.

How to Make It Last Longer

Start low: begin at the bottom of the coil’s wattage range.

Refill early: top up before the tank runs dry, and leave a few seconds between puffs.

Match the liquid: 50/50 in MTL coils, thicker liquid only in the 0.3Ω coil.

Look after the battery: use a separate charger where possible and replace any cell with a torn wrap.

Change the coil when the flavour fades or tastes burnt.

Best Colours

All four finishes share the same zinc alloy body. Black is the discreet choice for vapers who carry the kit in a pocket all day. Gunmetal is darker and hides daily scuffs well. Silver gives the classic brushed-metal mod look and sits closest to a stainless steel tank. Bronze is the warmest finish and suits vapers who want the kit to stand out on a desk.

Innokin Vape Price Check

As of October 2026, the same kit is listed at £39.99 at Vape Store Direct, £41.99 at E-Liquid Base and £49.99 at Pure E-Liquids, against £37.99 here. Within the Innokin vape kits range, the Innokin Coolfire Z80 Zenith II Vape Kit costs £39.95 and takes the same Innokin Z coils, so coil costs match. Versus the Innokin Kroma-Z, the Innokin Kroma R swaps a built-in 3000mAh battery and a 40W limit for a removable 18650 and 80W.
