Art & Design Inspiration

Hatsune Miku: Shimian Maifu Ver. is based on an illustration by Rei inspired by the historical music piece “Shimian Maifu.”

The composition blends Hatsune Miku’s recognizable design with traditional Chinese visual elements, including the pipa instrument, flowing costume details and a color treatment intended to evoke the atmosphere of an ink painting.

The figure closely follows the pose and movement of the original artwork, with the long twin-tails and layered clothing forming much of the display’s dramatic silhouette.
